“Dust to Come…” Curated video program by New Media Society to be featured in Future Threads: Mosaic Rooms’ Digital Programme.

Saturday – Sunday: Aug 8-9, 2020

Watch a series of experimental art films by contemporary Iranian artists and filmmakers curated by the New Media Society. Exploring futures and alternative visions, most of the selected videos are shown for the first time.

There are 9 videos by 11 artists including (in screening order):

The future is blurry; we made countless Macro & Micro mistakes; we know the storm is inevitable; we watch science fiction, or we don’t… The future was never bright as they promised it to be, for some parts of the world is still as nonexistent and discriminatory, as if it wasn’t pictured at all and never
predicted.

The colorful plastic future once was pictured dreamy and chic but no one told us about the dust to come.

Future Threads, a digital program featuring artists, curators, and thinkers from the Arab world and beyond who engage with social transformations and future concepts.

If it is an artist’s duty to reflect the times, what does that reflection look like At this moment of global crisis? Future Threads unpacks the disruptive potential of art and culture and profiles some of the most innovative and original responses by artists during this time of the pandemic.
