The Neighbors Think Nobody is Here

Object theater, “The Neighbors Think Nobody is Here” written and directed by Leila Ahmadi Abadeh and performed by Naghmeh Manavi will be on view for six nights, with the support of New Media Society – Tehran. This piece has been featured previously in the third Micro leev Festival.

The statement which the group released for the Piece reads: In “The Neighbors think nobody is here” eight people gather around a table as a narrator is telling her story to the strangers who have come to her house.
In this piece, we have tried to avoid defining the object in relation to the dramatic persona. We have tried that objects themselves play their role and to avoid Personification. Here, each object will lend its material and picturesque presence to the performer, without losing its object quality and fading into dramatic Personification.

Leila Ahmadi Abadeh has graduated in Puppet Theater from the Tehran Art University. In the past she has participated in various festivals as a playwright such as “The womb house “, “They live in us” and “I failed anyway” she attended in different festivals. She was short-listed for The Radi Playwright Award in the 19th University Theater Festival.

Naghmeh Manavi, has graduated in acting and directing from the Tehran Art University. She appeared in different plays like “Direct relevance”, “They live in us” as an actor and director. She has won the directing award from TheFifth Monologue Festival.
